hey guys,

I been boarding now for around 4 years and i am increasingly convincing myself i made a mistake on day 1!!!

I was in Arinsal hiring gear (for my first day of boarding) and the bloke asked me regular or goofy. i didnt know what to say, so i went with goofy.

As the years pass i fell like i should be regular but im more than competent with goofy.

Any advice? should i stick to what i know or change?

If i do change, do you reakon i'll just need a few days to adjust or do you reakon it'll take time?

Cheerio!

Most boarders practice riding fakie. Open up your stance and give it a bash. If it doesn't work out at least you will be more confident in fakie.

Some people do make the change, usually sooner. What angles are you riding ? I'm guessing both feet forward if this is to be a real change for you. I'd go for it and see what happens. I think it will be obvious within a few hours. If you are right, you'll be awesome riding fakie.

Ah right I see....

Is it no anything to do with whether you are left or right footed?

As right footed I tend to slide across my laminated floor at home with right foot forward - does/will this affect anything? Or is it better to have the stronger, agile leg at the back?

As it happens, I'm right footed and ride regular (left forward).

I don't believe anyone has come up with a good corelation between anything and your stance on a snowboard.

The latest school of style is to ride duck stance, so either direction is comfortable (if you're comfortable in a duck stance and I'm not). Most snowboards are directional and so even with a duck stance, you would still have a preferred direction.

that would suggest your goofy to me then, leading with the right. its not to do with left or right footed, im right footed and and regular and would slide left foot forward on floor.
