Ski in Austria from Zurich ???
Hello
Can anyone recommend a ski resort in Austria that we can reach from Zurich? We arrive Zurich 26 Jan & leave 31st.
We were going to ski in Switz but were finding that we would have a 2 hour drive each way everyday & then our friends accommodation was not available.
Can you recommend an Austrian resort to stay in? I imaging that this would be a less expensive option that Swiss?"!?!?
2 of us are good skiiers, 2 are beginners & need ski school & 1 is an early intermediary! We would transfer directly from Zurich airport to the resort - staying Jan 26 - 31 - only NEXT week!!
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks! :)

You can also take the train direct from the airport to St Anton (though with a change in Zurich main station). Its a very civilised way to make the transfer. The train takes about 2.5 hours.
St Anton is a wonderful ski resort and the more experienced will have a ball. However, it is quite demanding for beginners and if you can afford it, Lech, a little bit up the valley, might be a better option for a group that includes beginners.

St Anton, and Lech are very close to the swiss border, so easy to get to. 2 1/2 hour drive, but as a previous post says, there's a train also. Very easy. YEs, and a lot cheaper than Switzerland!!! Although lech is expensive, it's fabulous for beginners, intermediates and experts alike.
Enjoy

Another possibly cheaper option is the Montavon Valley and Schruns. Which I think is near to the Swiss side.
I just love the gravitational pull
