Hi guys.
Bit of advice if I may. If you had no choice but to book well in advance what would your recommendations be for skiing the first week in April 2012. I was thinking either Val T or Tignes? Any advice please?
many thanks in advance.

Any reasonably high area should see you okay; Maybe close to a glacier for the ultimate insurance;
Like the look of claviere/Montgenevre & these should have good snow at that time.
Also Cervinia or Livigno in Italy are very high.
in france there are many choices, L2A, Serre Chevalier etc etc..
In Austria you have Solden, St Anton, Obertauren, Kaprun etc

Any particular reason for you only wanting to choose between 2 French Tarentaise mega resorts?

Honest answer is that having skied elsewhere other than France - smoky Austrian bars drive me mad as a non smoker and I love the fact that you can have a smoke free beer or meal in France now.
I also love french skiing generally and am a massive fan of the Paradiski, 3 Valleys and The Grand Massif (Flaine in my opinion is totally under rated) Never been to the Espace Killy and with the height of Tignes and VT thought they may be the best bet snow wise?
Many Thanks, Rob

I was going to suggest Grand Massif - from personal experience of skiing there, April has been consistently good for Easter skiing.
I would say it's a pretty safe best 1st week in April.

Tignes every time. For:
Snow management
Piste safety measures
Variety of terrain
Access to lots of glacier runs
Huge vertical -Grande Motte to Brevieres
Espace Killy with 2nd glacier on same lift ticket
