Seems to have had some good recent fall in that area. As for what it's like? Depends your ability and the rest of your party. We went over last Christmas and New Year and chose Le Ros as we had several who had no skiing experience other than some indoor slope lessons, and to that end it was great for our group. We stayed din a catered chalet which had ski in/out and was in the smaller and New Les Eucherts-which is aprox a 15 minute walk into Les Ros centre. There isn't a great deal in the way of restaurants and bars but enough if like us you make your own evening entertainment and venture out on your chalets hosts day off.

Being linked with Le Thulie gives you quite a large ski area to play with but the connection over from Le Ros is a very long rope tow but it's worth it for some interesting skiing and the variety. We had arranged a guide as there is allot on offer but unfortunately a few people didn't turn up so the guide decided not to bother. Many of the longer blue runs were mostly narrow-ish tracks connecting other runs and you really needed to get your speed up when you could to maintain momentum in the flat.

It's south facing so as a rule is meant to be sunnier, but when we went we had 3 days of glorious sunshine and 3 of total whiteout. In all we enjoyed our trip as it was ideal for our group. If they every put a quicker transport link over the border to Italy I'd go again.

Sorry it's not a rope tow over to Italy it's a button.

Not a snow report but more a comment on the button between La Ros and La Thuile. I stayed in Thuile so it was good to ski over to la ros but that button back to la thuile was not pleasant for the less accomplished skiers. it was 2/3 years ago now but as i recall it was probably best part of 15mins without a stop and now way of getting back on if you came off apart from the start again.having said that if you dont mind the button then it was nice to be able to ski in the 2 resorts. La Ros does have some good runs but i really did enjoy the thuile side particulary in the tree line with a few good blacks.

I am here at the moment! It has been snowing all day today but not putting down loads. The snow is very thin down at resort so needs this snow today, but is absolutely fine higher up. Freeze thaw conditions have played with the quality a bit, and there are a lot of icy parts, but having skiied all types of conditions, there is absolutely nothing to worry about as it stands at the moment. However, the weather is due to get warm again for tomorrow, Thurs and Fri and really, the resort could do without it. But, we are having a great time and trust me, I have seen it a hell of a lot worse, and is not affecting our skiing at all! If you`re comfortable on reds, then head over to la Thuile......snow is better ( in my opinion) over there. We come back Saturday, so I`ll let you know any major changes! Jo
A bad day on the slopes is better than a good day in the office !
