Soll - Anyone been this season?

Going there in 2 weeks had a great time last year.Anyone been there this season can give us a report?
Minor point but have Austria now brought in the smoking ban in bars. They introduced it in restaurants 2 years ago and I heard the bars were to be included this year. Even as a smoker some of the bars were uncomfortably smokey in Austria at times.

I was close by last week. Not in the world's best condition, like most of the Alps, we are on machine snow near resort level, but it all adds to the challenge! Very skiable ~ all skiing is good skiing!
The smoking isn't a minor point if you are a non-smoker. It is Austria's weakness. European law allows each country to set their own parameters. Austria has created a mishmash. Even some restaurants may have a smoking area! Smaller establishment may set their own local "custom" rules.
Since this was established I have argued that it is unsustainable. Now that Spain has made a clear statement, others will follow, and eventually Austria will have to follow suit.
I might even catch up with you in a couple of weeks. No smoking!

I skied Skiwelt on Tuesday and it was compacted and a bit icey. Since then it has been getting warmer. I was in Niederau and Auffach until Friday and the snow was getting slushy and gaps of earth appearing.

They had 5cm yesterday but it's getting quickly trashed as rising to 8 degrees this weekend. So not good basically.

I'm hoping it will get better next week.

I have spoken to people who have influence and they have promised me the snow will come and the pistes will be sorted by the 22nd, job done! )

Just back from Wilder-kaiser, not far from Soll, temperature was 9 degrees on Saturday 1pm when I was sitting down to my half way beer. Needs another half metre of fresh snow but generally good enough, brown patches near the bottom, which anyone with diarrhoea will tell you...its not good!
