I have always supported Arsenal because my son has since he was little. His absolute idol was Sol Campbell, he idolised him. Now 15 years later he plays for Pompey and my son coachs him twice a week for tennis. He says at first it was so scary, he was in absolute awe of him.

Well done your young man, Sol Campbell is one of nature's gentlemen. He scored the goal that would have put England through, but Shearer fouled the keeper, and Beckham got the blame for England going out.
Couple of weeks ago, my No 1 son interviewed Smokin' Joe Frazier. I can tell you he was certainly in awe of SJF!

how fortunate that he started idolising him when he was at arsenal rather than tottenham, in which case he would've been subjected to a life of misery and disappointment

Such a shame that UK teachers are unable to respond to the circumstances. Just think of the fun you could have had with say, a catapult
Bandit: yes, I agree. just think how much fun I could have with a Trebouchet!
Actually, I'd like to take the buggers to the top of a little black run and say; ''off you go, you'll enjoy the scenery snd have a nice day now!'' and give them ever such a small push .....'' but the GTC would never allow it.
Last week, a boy put out his foot as I was passing, and I only JUST managed to spy the offending appendage in time to save myself from 6 weeks in plaster. Had I not been able to see Niederau this new year, I would have taken the boy's tonsils out - by hand.
