Skigirl, you should tell Thomsons, they are still showing the Vicki on Page 11.

Passing of an era though. Some of the greatest nights in the Vicki were the years that Dave Lambert played. (Dave Lambert of the Strawbs, song ~ Union Man). He played twice a week, and latterly three times a week. Top drawer.

He worked for the red ski school. Yeah!

The Strawbs....they were about as interesting as Jethro Tull :(

Mebbe Wickers, but "Union Man" was a song of it's time, rather like "Boys from the Black Stuff".

Regardless, Dave Lambert is a skilled guitarist, good singer, wide repetoire, fabulous skier, instructor,.......

Doesn't it make you sick?

You certainly couldn't sleep through the chorus Ian! Good hairy chest, down to earth stuff, definitely not for those who wear pink underwear and red ski trousers.

I remember the song quite well, the song was a lot more commercial than most of the songs that I has heard before, but it was really not my type of music when I was a young man 8)

Yes SkiGirl is quite correct, The Hotel Vicky is being reborn as the Vicky Apartments and will be available for the first time this season. A 40 something room hotel, will become 12 luxury apartments sleeping up to 6 people. Check out the web site for more information http://www.vickyapartments.com/en_winter_Home.html
As for Dave Lambert I was lucky enough to hear him play in the Bicklewirt and he is a world class guitarist, part of the union is not representative of his skill in any way...
