Thanks Andy, and Ian :)

Hi Andid,
There are 26 of us booked into the Sauze hotel, and 18 of us have skied/boarded together on previous J2Ski holidays.
I don't know what the new members of the group are like, but the rest of us are really lovely people :) ;)

We are a mixture of ages, from teenagers to 'seniors'. Most of us are skiers although we have several boarders as well. And we also range from those who've only had a couple of weeks experience on the snow to those who've been ski-ing/boarding for years.

None of those who have come with us before have been 'experts' - the sort who can ski off-piste like James Bond! ;)

Most of us are happy enough to pootle about the slopes and enjoy the mountain restaurants, and sit in the bar during the evenings. So far we haven't done any hard partying during the evenings, but this may change of course in Sauze!

We usually divide up into small groups according mainly to what time people get up and are ready to go out the door and onto the slopes. It's very nice because we also meet up on the slopes and in the restaurants, and sometimes people move about from one group to another. There's no sort of formality to it.

If you'd like to join us you'd be very welcome :)

There is still availability in the Sauze hotel with Crystal, price £449 per person for a shared room, including flights and transfers and half board.

However, if you'd prefer to stay in a different hotel and just ski with us that's fine.

I can endorse everything that has been said about this group. We are a mixed bunch but have found we get on really well.

The first year my OH and I went and we were outnumbered by singles (people who are or just ski without their partners), it made no odds because we all had a common aim; to ski/board and have a good time on holiday. Last season we brought our 19 year old son with us and he had an equally good time, meeting up with other younger members of the group and blasting off leaving us oldies behind. Although he also joined us some days, mainly so he could laugh at me falling over I think! There were some members who had been with us the year before and some new people both family groups and singles. Once again a good time was had by all.

I would say that for single skiers/boarders who are looking to buddy up, this is a good group to join. I don't like to ski on my own but am lucky that my OH will put up with me (I am a lot slower than him), so I don't have this problem but, in any case I find it is much more fun to ski with a group.

We have had occasions when there are probably too many of us together at once and it gets a bit messy but this is usually when we start off or meet up at a pre arranged place. We soon separate out into smaller groups again that want to do the same things, it is all very friendly and each person chooses who they want to ski with and we swap about a bit.

If you want to be in the super fast go everywhere and do as much as possible group, especially steep blacks, then join AllyG. If you want to take it a bit easier and cruise the blues, reds and occasional black, (with plenty of coffee stops) then join me. This group caters for all and would be very happy for you to join us :-)

P.S. the party starts at Gatwick the night before for some of us ;-)
I can see my house from here...

Mind you fair warning....
There can be a degree of competitiveness leading to arguments within the group.
It tends not to be about Skiing/Boarding ability, whether Skiing or Boarding is best, Helmet vs Bobble or other such items but more along the lines:

Relative merits of ceramic vs titanium joint replacement
Which Knee Brace is best and...
Which works best; Acupuncture or Medicinal Cannabis for joint pain.

Just thought I should give people the heads up.

Thanks for your replys. I tried to book first through crystal who stated they had a room but would only book for two people not possible to pay single supplement. Checked out flights no probs but after contacting hotel direct informed no rooms left! Will try again in a few days time. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Andy

Hi Andy, would you be willing to share with a room buddy (male of course)? What we have done on the last 2 J2Ski group holidays is to post up on here when we have someone who wants to come but is looking for a room mate. So far we've managed to find someone each time :)

There are no rooms left in the Sauze to book directly because we've got them all! We've booked 12 out of the 31 rooms in the hotel for the group directly, and 2 more through Crystal. The hotel couldn't let us have more than 12 because they'd 'sold' the rest to Crystal etc.

Hi Andid, I have to say, they are a good bunch, I went beginning of this year with my 2 kids for the first time with the j2ski lot and all 3 of us enjoyed it. We have also booked to go next February with them. Looking forward to it and can't come soon enough :) bring it on :) :)
