Hi all,
I am looking to stay in Val Thorens (or anywhere in France with snow in mid December) from 17-22 December for a quick ski break. I have found most packages / chalets require a 7 night minimum to stay.
Does anybody have any recommendations or suggestions where I could stay for just the 4-5 nights?
Many thanks in advance.

Easiest from Geneva would be Chamonix, it's only an hour. There are many hotels, hostels and apartments available, the dates are low season too. Many (most?) hoteliers are not in the 7 day stay calftrack.
Try booking dot com for ideas for a place to stay, and do a search for one of the many minibus transfer operators running to/from Chamonix. If you change your destination from VT to Chamonix, you'll find this site useful for lots of stuff.

Hey guys thanks a lot for your responses, I really appreciate all the help!
I know val thorens is just about guaranteed snow in mid december because of its altitude. Would you say Chamonix and Tignes are about the same?
Oh, and on a side note, can anyone recommend the best way to get to the snow from Paris?
Many thanks.

Paris to Gva on the TGV Lyria, or a cheap flight. Pick up a transfer from there.
Grand Montets has delayed it's opening to next week. VT is not open yet either. Tignes I think, is currently open on the glacier. VT does not have much of a useable glacier AFAIR.
