Just wondering if anyone ever been there, its in Chamonix, France ?
If any of you have, or have heard about it, any feedback will be much appreciated ?
Also can you ski off from the Aiguille du Midi cable - might be a stupid question but I'm a bit confused, as its only 300m from the apartments.
Thanks, Gummy.

I think that the complex is part of Chamonix Sud, which is close to the Aguille du Midi c/c. Yes you can get the lift up, and don't mind the walk out on the Arete, you can ski the Vallee Blanche, come back through the woods and return to Chamonix, depending on snow cover. Harness, Transceiver, Probe, Shovel and sufficient capability are needed, plus possibly Crampons as the Arete is typically not roped up early in the season.
I've stayed elsewhere in Chamonix Sud. It's like most purpose built tourist complexes with hundreds of little people boxes all piled up around a central courtyard.

You mean these ones :- La Riviere ?
The descent served by the Aiguille du Midi car is not a normal ski run! The car runs up to the second peak of Mont Blanc and serves a number of (very) off-piste routes back down - the most famous of which is the Vallee Blanche. The VB is pretty much a "tourist route" but nonetheless is off piste over glaciers and not somewhere to go without a guide - falls into crevasses sadly claim a number of people each season.
Whilst it's factual to say the apartments are 300m from the nearest lift, it's not your average lift! So you will most likely be making use of the shuttle buses to get to various of Chamonix's actual ski areas.
That said, the apartments are in a great location to enjoy Chamonix itself - and a trip up the Aiguille is well worthwhile even if just to have a coffee at the top and take in the truly incredible views, so it all depends what you want.

Yeah those are the ones.
Right thanks for the heads up guys ! As for the other lifts that take me to Chamonix's actual ski areas how long does it take because from reviews and reading up about it, nothing seems to be clear, about how long does it takes to get to them, i am aware there is a 1 minute walk to ski bus stop.
Thanks again guys, Gummy.

A bus ride from Sud to Brevent will take you at least 10 mins, depending on traffic in town. About the same to Flegere. Sud to Argentiere about 20 mins, stops/traffic etc
I think that Sud is out in the 'burbs as far as being in a great location in Chamonix, so can't agree with Admin on that one. FME it's about 10 mins walk from Sud to the main shopping/restaurant/bars area.
