Hi All Excuse me for posting this on snowheads as well, but I'm looking to buy my first skis in the sale for next year. I'm 56, male, intermediate, can carve, parallel, mostly reds and blues, on piste. Not really looking to go off piste (other than little bits on the side) and want a ski that carves well and is a bit forgiving, mostly due to my age and fitness which is OK for my age.
I am buying because I am semi retired and my wife and I are planning to take our caravan to Europe for 6 weeks next spring to make up for having only learned to ski 18 months ago!
Snow and Rock have got both the Salomon Aeromax Ti and the Dynastar Booster 10 at around £220 in the sales with bindings. Has anyone got any feedback on these skis as to which might be best, and, does either of them have any draw backs?
All feedback welcome. Thanks. Dixie Dean.

Sorry, haven't tried them, but the reviews I read seemed to put the Salomon in the beginner skis class and the Dynastar in the intermediate plus class. I think what I got from the reviews is that the Dynastar is a better built ski, that will handle well at speed, and can be pushed harder. I couldn't find much detail on the construction, but the dynastars sounded better. The extra 3mm or 4mm waist width will make them a little more versatile.

Another ski you might want to look at is the Fischer Progressor. This ski has a multi radius side cut. This side cut design will become more popular in the future as it makes for a lot less effort needed to make turns. A smaller radius side cut at the front, makes for easy turn initiation, and a larger radius side cut at the rear, makes for easy release from turns. I know from using my Palmer skis that this makes a huge difference. Blended radius side cuts have been around for a while, but these have taken it a stage further.
because I'm so inclined .....

Trencher, thanks for that - I'll have a look to see if there's any about.
