Hi

I was in Val d'Isere/Tignes last week, came back Sunday.

It snowed alot Thursday/Friday/Saturday. Conditions should be good for this week.

Regards

Sorry to disappoint you, but at this time of the season conditions change very quickly. No point telling you it's been great last couple of days as in 10 days it can be rubbish. It should (I would even say "will") be skiable and take the rest as a bonus since you are already going. On a positive note it snowed last few days pretty much everywhere in this part of Alps and more snow is expected. On a negative note, temperatures didn't drop as much as it was hoped to. It's colder, but it's not cold at all - people are sitting outside if it's not raining.

I wouldnt worry about that, we were doing that in January to be fair!
Plus we all like sitting out in the sun if we are honest when we are skiing.

thanks for your reply. I'm totally aware conditions can change but I'm a firm beleiver that weather follows a pattern and with all yr skiing in this area I think if there is a good fresh cover now then it's not likely to go anywhere in the next 10 days.... I'm hoping that it will be warm so we can sit out. I like everyone else Am just keen to hear real reports from those have that have just been.

Of course weather follows the pattern, only patterns in April differ from ones in February. I go skiing every weekend from December to end of April and know from experience that closer to the season end conditions may change from one weekend to another. Tignes is high altitude, so there will be enough snow left for sure, but nothing can guarantee its quality will be the same over the period of almost two weeks. Even when it's snowing this snow is different - heavier for one. That's why I don't think there is much point in stressing over conditions unless you have an option of chosing where to go in a very short notice according to snow reports:) Good luck anyway and have a great time!
