I'm trying, but it's hard! :)

I know, tell me about it! Having lived here for almost 3 yrs now I still get frustrated sometimes. Key seems to be going out and talk a lot with locals.

We also do not live in UK and I found a fantastic deal online just by googling 'cheap xmas ski holidays france' I was amazed at what it turned up. The chalet I ended up booking was still advertising at 200 pounds per person over the rate I got from an obscure website. I have picked up deals like this before - just by googling exactly what i was looking for and not specifying 'chalets'

I hope this makes sense :-)

p.s. we don't speak a word of French either
mum works too hard to pay for the ski trips!

The discount is on the Chalet group website but not on the Chalet Morillon site.

Hey Dreamspy,
Good luck on the hunt. It seems the French Market is entirely different to the UK market. Most people in France tend to book directly with the hotels and apartment blocks themselves.

One trick I have found works really well is to find some prices and then call the resorts I like direct. Speak to the apartment building receptions and ask them to beat website quotes from agents. They all speak english so if your french is not interpreter level yet, no problem.

Another great way is to call the Office du Tourism in resort as they organise many holiday rentals.

One of the best ways to find a great rate is to call the lift pass office as they sometimes do special promotions with a ski pass included saving you every time on booking individual elements.

Hope it helps.

According to the latest info learning another language is not at all difficult for us Brits. All you have to do is talk louder and with a bit of a french accent and they understand. (Times Thursday). So Goe hand geet sum lesoons.
