Travel within Zillertal?

Thanks... yeah, that's not too bad. I think 400m is walkable. Someone at Ski Optimal told me we could leave shoes at the ski rental places.... not sure though, that might just be if you're a customer.

I think at Zell the lifts are a long way from the station, more of a pain...! We have six days, so I'm thinking 3 for Mayrhofen (where we stay), and 1 each in Kaltenbach, Hinterux and Zell.

But we will see!

I stayed in Mayrhofen last year and am going back to it again this year, Im not 100% positive but the i don't think there were many (if any) lockers at the bottom of the Penken lift. However if you had rented from the right shop (or from the shop at the top of the penkenbahn) you could store your skis at the top of the mountain during the day and over night (if i remember correctly).
