Back home now and feeling exhausted but glad to be here with all the travel problems.
Jet2 Flight Gatwick to Friedrichshafen was superb - our smoothest ever check-in and departure on time. Comfortable seats and plenty of legroom which pleased my husband - so very impressed all round. First three days skiing were in great visibility but very cold temperatures. Lots of snowmaking going on which resulted in some runs having mounds of snow on them making things interesting! Clearly the emphasis was on preparation for the Christmas skiers.
Last three days had sporadic snow flurries and intermittent visibility plus snow cannons going at full tilt.
The Madloch link on the White Ring was closed for the first three days but then opened, but the red ski route down to Zug was scratchy. Red 10 from Muggengrat down to Zurs was in superb condition however. Blue 8 from St Anton down to St Christoph was in great condition too followed by a coffee on the sun terrace of the Hospiz!
Generally we found the best value coffee/lunch stop was Seekopf, but across the ski area we were paying from 2.50 to 4.50 for coffee and 4 to 8 eu for various soup options.
Lack of sleep now catching up I'm afraid (we were buying some milk in the Ipswich Tesco at about 1.30 this morning so we could have a cup of tea!) but at least we made it home.
Happy Christmas everyone!
