The question was on coolness and best place to buy a helmet, not whether or not Tony's new hat was cool

Pablo covered the essentials - make sure it fits your head and goggles. I think most brands are unlikely to be cheaper in resort now (due to our currency being in the pan) so if you can find one (that fits) in the UK then that'll be one less thing to do once you get out there.

As said, I think we've done the helmet / hat thing so any further replies please restrict yourself to advice for the OP on where to buy.

I tried lots on and then bought it online having slept on it and seeking advice after the event . I love it and give it the odd cuddle now and then
I suggest you go to the largest store you can find so there's lots of choice.

broom wrote:you can buy Bobble hats with a special safety, that if you fall on your head it hardens 50 pound in snow & rock, so its cool and safe

I tried one of those too, I tested it by punching myself in the head and it hurt a bit  They look funny too, like beanies with a mahooosive head underneath. Not for me I'm afraid but worth a try.
