You'll definitely be able to ski by the end. The first few days can be a bit challenging but once you get going you'll be hooked.
Brilliant
Take yourself a wooly vest and a hat and may be a hip flask :D
No, I was there working for a year and a half, skiing, backpacking, surfing, travelling.

We cant wait to go, im sure we will both come back battered and bruised from falling over all the time, but im sure we have a great laugh! and hopefully we will both pick it up easily and actually be able to ski by the end of the holiday.

Hey HelzBelz,
I'm in the same situation! I'll have my first ski/snowboard trip day 27 and 28 of december with my girl and a friend. We are also so excited. Actually, we will be closing a trip throughout europe... saving the best for the last, ;o) After lots and lots of thought we booked Sauze D'Oulx.
One of the things I'm really worried about are the clothes. I live in Brasil, so I have no idea how's that cold, specially skiing.
I'd like to know if they have "special" clothes to rent there, cause I didn't want to spend money on goggles and other things I will use sporadically. Anyone knows?
Hopefully I'll also pick up easy and be able to enjoy some real slopes on the second day! =)

I was once sat on the floor of our apartment in Sydney, Australia, at the height of their summer. Surrounded by some dozen skiers, most of whom had worked in Niederau, all of whom had partaken of at least half a crate of Tooheys.
Well, you know what its like when skiers get together. Reminicences of great runs, falls, drinking times. By mid-afternoon, you could have imagined 3 ft of powder in the room.
Shortly before we wound up, I turned to the guy in the corner, and mentioned that he hadn't said much, and what were his skiing experiences?
"I live in Perth. I've never seen snow."
