I've not heard that word before, we call it a shovel-up normally. It's used where there's not enough snow to dig in for snow cave. Igloos generally need good hard snow like deep wind slab. So there's a number of methods to get a shelter depending on the snow types.

look again, there's an entrance tunnel :lol:

seems to be surviving although I think it's only been above zero a couple times since we finished it.

In Finland they charge 120euros per person, per night to sleep in one of their igloos. I think you are onto a winner Ise.
