I received some.. the blue and red ones? Potentially the poorest quality item of anything I have ever held but for £8 I don't think you are entitled to complain
I can't agree with that, fleece is an odd fabric, most of the top name stuff use fabrics and weaves that are still proprietary. It's like Goretex in that respect. The TNF Flight fleece I have (and live in) is a radically different garment from a 20 quid fleece that Aldi knock out. When you get to that blurry line between fleece and soft shell the differences become much more pronounced.
Ise Aldi have some Merino wool thermals in at the mo for £ 14.59.

There may be some differences at the very top end, But I have Patagonia, Marmot etc and there is often not a lot of difference to no-name fleeces once you have them on under a shell. One major difference might be in the smell treatments though

Aldi have their children's ski wear range coming in on Sunday 4th Jan - including thermals at £4.49 per set. Great value & they certainly do the the job perfectly well. Check out their web page.
The plan is.... there's no plan!

Welcome to J2ski :D Thermals are pretty important items of clothing, and inferior kit can ruin anyones' enjoyment of their holiday. Best kit is reckoned to be Icebreaker. Mid range is HH. Budget option is Trespass/Dare2B/Aldi etc.
If you are after a bargain, especially with growing children, and are in the UK, get along to a TK Maxx soon. I picked up some Falke thermals from there recently, for one third of the full retail price.
I have some of extremely expensive X-bionic stuff and it's only just OK. The very best I have right now are a set I bought from Aldi which are absolutely fantastic, 20 chf each for top and leggings, however that's the mens stuff, the womens version was fairly poor. There's no reason at all this stuff shouldn't be as cheap as chips, the stuff Aldi has is as good as it gets. Mostly anything's good as long as it's not cotton really.

Barts make good quality kids thermals - they are more expensive than some that have been mentioned but as with most things you get what you pay for. :D
