LOTA,

It takes a while to get up to the Schilthorn. If you don't make it then I can send you a picture or two from there. Spectacular views of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Monk from there.
Hope you enjoy Grindelwald as much as I enjoyed Wengen.

Thanks - intend to have a really good time (but today's report from Grindelwald was a little worrying with a lot of snow blown off the slopes at Kleine Scheidegg - lots of brown grass on show, apparently.)

Well, it was magnificent - and the best day of all was the Schilthorn and the bowls above Murren. Went with a guide, set off earlyish and it didn't take too long to get there or get back.

Mostly ski-ing on deserted runs last week all over the Jungfrau region - fantastic. Even with the influx for the Lauberhorn races, the runs and lifts were quiet - no queues at all!

Oh yes... the Swiss Patrouille jet display team training and then displaying on Friday was a real bonus - viewing them from Eigerglestcher was superb!

It was a fantastic week. Watched the downhill practices from the grandstand in Wengen and then joined the masses at Canadian Corner for the combined downhill and then down the hill to see the slalom.
OH very happy to see Bode ' do I have to go through all the gates?' Miller.
Nightmare flight home. Aborted landing 50ft above Exeter runway!!! Then a diversion to Gatwick with my dinner close to showing itself again. Ground crew said it was a spectacular scene watching us come in and pilot's comment was that he'd never flown in such bad conditions. Then a 6 hour drive back to Cornwall!
Still sorting kit and photos. Will post some later in the week.

Of course he doesn't have to ski all the gates, he is Bode Miller and he will do whatever he pleases.

We were there for the Lauberhorn build up week a couple of years ago. Brilliant week despite the conditions and very surreal at times. We got out piste map signed by a lot of the top skiers. It's now proudly hanging on the bathroom wall!
