How many weeks skiing do you get from a pair of boots?

If boots aren't right get 'em sorted. Bad boots can ruin skiing. If you have never had boots as comfortable as your slippers you need to get properly fitted and your skiing will improve overnight. My boots are more comfortable than my slippers, support my foot better, are moulded to my foot and toasty warm, just like my slippers. Ahhh boot heaters.
Yes, Ellis Brigham have been around a long time, and can fit boots properly. Make sure that you go early in the season and be 1st in the door, so the fitter is not rushed!
Remember, it's really easy for a fitter to pop you into a pair of ski boots that will feel comfy, and make you smile. That way, when the liner settles, you will be back to buy more ) Bad fitting boots = rub patches/black toenails and loss of skiing fun!
Most likely the fitter will place some little shims under the footbed to straighten you up on the ski. You will still be bow legged/knock kneed etc, but it won't affect your skiing anymore.
Take the time now, make sure you get the right size/shape 1st time round and you should get 15-20 weeks out of a pair. Some skiers on here, get lots more.
As for slipper comfort...hmmm, more like your favourite trainers would be my best description. My feet feel like they belong in the boot. Everything touches, but there is no cramping feeling. If your boots fit badly you will find it really hard to use a modern ski properly.

I bought a pair of boots some 3 years ago ..I first went round the local stockists and tried them on ..Snow and Rock were the most help ..I had a custom insole moulded for me at Big Dicks (I know) Surfboard in Sheffield and then bought a pair of Rossignol boots at a good price on the Bay...can't say I have had a moments pain in 8 weeks on the snow...maybe I was lucky

I don't believe it's luck,some people moan and complain if a days skiing does not go there way blame boots ski's, & some of us just get on with it. I have never had a pair of boots that are as comfortable as my slippers and I never will, some of the best boots I have had have been the cheaper ranges,the most expensive boots I have ever

Superduke_Chris, remember, if a boot is really comfy straight out of the box, then it's likely to be too big. Once the lining compacts down, from about 5 weeks use onwards, the fit can go all sloppy. It's possible for a fitter to "blow" a shell out to suit your foot, but much harder to make an oversize boot smaller. Most folks give up and purchase more boots.

Boots loosening up after 5 weeks use is not a concern really due to the amount of skiing I'll be doing. I'm certainly not going to buy some now that won't be comfortable for 5 years!! Having said that I'm after boots that fit right and allow me to ski to the best of my ability, I'm not expecting slipper like comfort and am more than happy for them to be slightly uncomfortable if they're aiding performance.
I'm thinking that I might now be better off just getting some from Ellis Brigham at Castleford and not worrying about the custom fitting at Profeet. Will Ellis Brigham set up the canting properly for me as well - I assume thats what needs adjustment to get my skis flat on the piste?
