My family and I are going to Whistler / Blackcomb for ten days in 09 as part of a visit to family living in Vancouver. I have considered staying at the Fairmont Chateau and would appreciate any views, especially on convenience.
The biggest problem I can envisage is making sure that the kids have had some breakfast before an 0845 start in ski school.
Is this hotel close to cafes etc for breakfast? Are the restaurants particularly expensive for breakfast in the hotel?
I understand that the hotel is close to Blackcomb base lodge, where the ski school would meet, is this correct?
Thanks, this newbie would appreciate any info.

The Chateau Whistler or the Four Seasons Hotel are located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. It is also the location of both the ski & snowboard school.
