Christmas skiing is great, but I do advise doing your research thoroughly, and don't be fooled by 'only going high altitude'... this is total rubbish... Most people will be crammed on to the tip of the highest resort they can find, because they beleive it's the only place that'll have snow...don't fall into this trap.
I live at 1300m, and there's always been more than enough snow for the resort to open early, or at least on time. If you're smart and do your research properly you will find there are some bargains to be had.
It's snowing in my resort now... told you it's not all about altitude!

I skied xmas in ADH. I loved it as i was skiing but there wasn't much xmas cheer.
Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens
