My husband has used one (or occasionally 2) of the supports you have ordered for the past few years for both skiing and walking (which surprisingly seems to cause him more trouble). He's found them to be really good and comfortable (wears over his thermals for skiing).
No idea what he actually did to his knee but woke up one morning with a bit of pain and next day he could hardly walk. Specialist said general wear and tear as no specific damage was found. Physio exercises have helped a lot so may be worth a try? I'm sure someone more qualified can suggest a couple as not exactly sure what he does and for what purpose.
Does anyone use knee support?

Interestingly I ruptured my ACL whilst wearing a knee brace (one on each knee for warmth vs any specific worries about my knees). The first few times skiing again I have worn no protection and had always stated would not wear one. There are some significant downsides with regards to proprioception. Have to admit am now seriously considering investing in something substantial as believe would significantly reduce the chances of hyperextension
