Paul,
Thank you again for your reply
I'll check run 34B on the first day!
Have you skied Itinery route 33 from Madloch to Zug?
How difficult is it?
Are there any trees there?
Cheers,
Thank you
I'll ckeck it up.
The only worry is the ski bus journey.
I hope it does not take forever to reach St. Anton from Lech.
How do you rate skiing in Arlberg?
Cheers,
Thank you, Tony
I've heard that the Blue run to Stuben is nice and easy.
Have you skied it?
Cheers,

No but you can get the lift back down from Rendl, some great easy skiing up there. The snow always seems to be in better condition over there so well worth a visit.

Yes, but It does get very busy and cut up though late in the day, not sure I'd want to lead a cautious skier down there.

You were asking:
Is it true that the easier blue runs are in Oberlech and Zurs?
Yes. Generally, Oberlech has much easier Blues than Zurs. But dont be put off by that - the Blues that run from the top of the Rufikopf along the east side to Zurs are fine for confident beginners. Also, the runs in Zurs become very quiet by late morning as most people have cleared off round the White Ring to Lech for lunch.
Is there any Blue tree line skiing in the area?
Unfortunately not. Zurs has none and in Lech only parts of some of the Blues in Oberlech have trees on one side or the other. The only exception is a short Red (34B) which links the bottom of the Kriegerhorn lift to the bottom of the Petersboden lift and is tree lined. For that reason (and especially in flat light) it is very popular and gets chopped up quickly.
Beware of skiing the Rendl in St Anton - there are no blues to ski back down...

Hi Biki17
The route Madloch - Zug (Red 33), although shown on the piste map as itinery is actually pisted. When the season opens they leave it but its part of the White Ring Race circuit so they piste it usually the week before Christmas as they did this year. It is a well known run and refered to as "Madloch". Its a series of quite steep pitches and not suitable for novices. Its very popular as its the main link from Zurs to Lech and the consequence is that as the day progresses it get very chopped up in places. In bad visibility and wet snow it can be a challenge - someone who went down it the other day in such conditions described it to me as "brutal".. However, on a sunny day with good snow its fantastic and worth stopping at various points to take in the view. Best time of day to to it is in the morning. There are some trees but only on the last 2 short pitches going into Zug.
Regarding the bus journey St Anton - Lech. Beware as the free Blue bus doesnt actually go as far as St Anton - it only goes as far as Alp Rauz (and back) and then you take Valfagehrbahn up to the Galzig Ski area. If you do a St Anton day taking in Rendl and so on you have to ski your way back to Alp Rauz via Blue 17. If not you have to get the normal Post bus from St Anton - Number 92 and takes about 40 mins back to Lech. The free blue bus from Alp Rauz to Lech takes about 18 minutes.
