I think you would enjoy Soll and the skiwelt. The skiing is very extensive and varied. My only quibble is that many of the runs are relatively short.
While it is low and may not enjoy the highest snow falls, it does compensate with very good piste maintenance and extensive snow making. I have been there when there hasn't been snow for ages and the pistes were still in good condition.
Soll probably has the best selection of bars and restaurants and is a great base to ski the area. Access is fine and unlikely to present any problems other than in the most busy weeks. From what I have heard about Mayrhofen that would be far worse.

Tony H. I have as you know been many times to Schladming, we have been to Soll the last 2 years and are again there week starting 21st January, so read into that what you like. I liked Mayrhofen but will not return there because of the agg getting up and down the mountain. If you want to know more mate PM me. The snow all be it not 3 metres thick has been great for us.

Tony, Wanderer has summed Soll up nicely. We are a mature group of good skiers and there is planty there for us.

Plenty of snow now in Soll with 30cm expected in the town itself alone over the next 3/4 days. At this rate we may have to make some contingency plans on how to get from the Postwirt to the Slavenstdl for Apres!!

Just had a look at the webcams - Soll looks fantastic! Straight off the slopes to Salvenstadle I think, then Rosinnis before collapsing for the night in the Post!!!
