I went to Val Thorens the first time I went snowboarding and I found it very good for learing as I learnt quickly. I found it reasonably priced, and it boasted a huge skiing area that we did not manage to cover during the whole week of our stay.

If you think VT is reasonably priced then next time choose a smaller resort, to save lots more money. You say that you did not cover the skiing area during your stay. To me says that it was too big a destination for a beginner.

Hmmmm I would agree with too big but to what I had Imagined before it what just what I was after and I also believe that it is cheap as I went with the university society who go on many tours and it was only 100 more but we were 250 strong. My booking this year shared with one other person for a week was even less, at £235 each, possibly because it was a late booking, but I know there will be no discount with lift passes, and I also have my own sports gear. I am open to suggestions though as I am fairly new to the snow sports holidays.
