Went to Kitz a few years back with my wife for only her second week on snow.
Runs are plentiful and are generally quiet - meaning she was comfortable on "cruising" reds by the end of the week. Most chairs are/were (so should be better again) modern detachable jobs so plenty of uplift speed.
Village itself is quite low so the bottom end of runs back to the town can be a little slushy/bald depending on their snowfall that year - the run down from the Horn was "interesting" with concrete in places on the Alpine low roads but still fun
Town itself is very pretty with some great bars (the Londonder?) and live music etc. If you''re there after the races then it's no bad thing as if you go immediately before you don't get to ski the famous run (only a red on the map but if its tricked up for racing then it needs some thought!)

Hi guys
we have been to kitzbuhel every year for the last 6 years so that should tell you something. We always ski a new resort but finish off our second week at Kitz which feels like coming home,
Excellent resort but try to stay near the hahnenkamm gondola as it can be a bit of a walk in ski boots though the Intersport there has lockers for your gear
best apreski is at Chizzos bar where after a few jaegermeisters you will be banging nails into an upended treetrunk with the wrong end of the hammer!
Do try to go over the 3S Bahn to Pass Turn area. Can take all day and need to catch the bus back but lovely skiing for intermediates and up. Run No 4 on the Horn side is our family favorite
enjoy - Kitz is lovely

Well there slopes are nice and high so snow is always better and they have some GREAT runs both blue and red! Even on the Horne is very good - you must ski on both sides, the are very regular to Hahnenkamm and Horne lifts so park and enjoy
We went xmas new year 2009 skiing was really good :)

After two years of living in Europe, my family and I absolutely love Kitz. Boys were in ski school for past two years and there are enough runs to challenge anyone. It's the only place we go now because we're comfortable with the price of hotels, lift fix, and rest in knowing that we don't have to RE-DISCOVER our way around the area each time we would go to a new place. Plan on making this year one of our best!! Having said that, I am interested in hearing more about Obergurgl.

I have been to Kitzbuhel in february twice now and it's great! Plenty of snow and great skiing on the Hahnenkamm side of town. I didn't give the kitzbuheler Horn side a try because there was no need. more than enough skiing the other side. Snow conditions in February are great, the best time of year for snow! The town itself is lovely, a beautiful centre with lovely shops. I doubt you will be disappointed!

Anyone been to Kitz during the Hahnenkamm Downhill weekend?
Are the slopes super busy or is everyone there purely to watch the race?
I've just booked a week in Kirchberg on 14th Jan.
Cheers!
