Anyone tried or is using this ski this season? Is the waist band wide enough for off-piste, in hard icy conditions is the waist band too wide for short turn edge to edge turns. Looking at buying a new all mountain ski for 50/50 skiing & looking for reviews of the above.
Ta very much.

Not used em, the write ups look good though. Might be a bit heavy to haul around off piste?
80mm waist is a useful width for all mountain. I'm using up to 86mm waisted skis on piste and off, and really don't see what the issues with width are, unless you are running gates for fun )

Bit more info, any more views on these skis. Standard of skiing a little less than described in the vid. Included the AC50 for comparison, anyone tried either of these.

I have been skiing on Volkl 6 Stars Supersport for the past 5 yrs .After reading all the reviews I decided to buy a set of Volkl AC50's 170cm in length. I would describe myself as a level 6-7 skier (21yrs of skiing) ,100kg in weight, who only skis a max of 2 weeks a year(. So what to say about the AC50.It is such a easy ski to ski it made me laugh a bit slow from edge to edge but once you get used to that the rest is easy. Found it a tremendous carving ski ,stable at any speed I could handle. Great on the bumps and in the crud just powered through it. Best of all after a hard days skiing they did not wear me out. Whereas if I had been on the 6 stars I would have been exhausted driving them to the same level. All I can say is for the heavier skier at mid intermediate level and above buy a pair. You will be laughing all the way "how can skiing be this easy".
Please note I am unable to comment on their powder capabilities. The nearest I got to it was skiing in 8 inches of fresh snow on a pisted base. They handled that with no problem.
As regards ski length all would say 177 cm would be correct length for me . However I skied 170 cm. I did not find it caused problems on the terrain I skied. However in powder I am sure longer length would be needed for more float. My freinds who I were skiing with who are the same level as me were on Salomon X Wing Tornado Ti and Rossignol Zenith 11's. They were in awe of the AC50's.
Buy some and see for yourself a great ski.

I don't know about the AC30's, I got a pair of the Volkl Grizzlies last year, with an 89mm waist, but to be honest with the IPT Wide Ride bindings, they really handle well, both on and off piste. I've had 3 sets of skis, all Volkl; Renntiggers, Vertigo G1's and now the Grizzlies. I noticed a big improvement when I moved on to the Vertigo's, I definitely started skiing better, but now I have the confidence to tackle just about anything on the mountain. 8)
