Hi Marc

I stayed at the Hotel Splendid last March.

200 yards flat walk to slopes but half a mile up a steep hill (known locally as coronary hill) away from the village and pubs.

Perfectly adequate and I didn't consider expensive.

Unless you are sharing costs in the car driving is not the cheap option, set your self up a spread sheet and budget the costs

Dont drive. You'll get a cheap half board package to Sauze flying into Turin, I'd guess anywhere between £250 and £400 per person depending on your hotel.
Avoid Hotel Sauze despite its position, its not good, but the Splended is ok.

Tony, have you got any thoughts on staying at the Chalet del Sole, on the Clotes piste?

Thanks for the replies I was looking at sharing fuel costs and looking at Clubcard vouchers for the ferry/Euro tunnel. But will set up spreadsheet and look at both options. Thanks again.

If you have a car, save some money by not staying in the resort, stay within 15-20k, which is a 15-20min drive. Hotels will be a lot cheaper. Ideally stay within striking distance of Sauze and 1 other resort which is covered on the lift pass. ( I think Montengevre and Sestiere)

With its regular British/Irish clientele , Sauze hotels and self catering accom will be only too aware of the mid term and may have prices to match, smaller satelitte towns may not .

Not sure what the parking is like in Sauze, both easy enuf parking in Jovenceux, chairlift from there to Sportina/Sauze
