Hi folks,
Ive booked a holiday to Champagny (La Plagne) for the first week in April 2010, but I would like to try one day Cross Country/Nordic Skiing. Has anyone been Nordic Skiing in the area, and whats the snow cover like in the valley at this time of year? i.e. is there generally snow-cover?
Thanks

Champagny is halfway up the mountain. IIRC there's a hidden valley which looks onto the side of the Grande Motte at Tignes, and there is a nordic area there. If theres snow down to Champagny there would be snow there.
My memory may have failed me though!!!!

Good cross country for beginners (+ up to 17 km black trail) in Champagny-le-Haut. There's normally a free shuttle bus for X-countriers from Champagny itself. Ask at the Tourist Office for instruction, or else at the Kiosk/Info centre for the tracks. Kit easy to hire in Champagny & cheap.
