Hi
A group of us (two families and a couple) are off to Montgenevre in Feb the week after half term. Can anyone give us some tips on where to head for and what to avoid? Our abilities range from very timid, but getting better with beta-blockers and hypnotherapy! and prepared to go on blacks as long as the weather is not too grim!
Thanks in advance.
Bill

Nice little ski area over there, and linked to other resorts too. Claviere is close by and easily reached.
The front area near resort in MontG has some nice runs, blue and red and a black which is quite easy and short but steep, and over the back in the bowl are some more interesting reds and a freeride area where you can do all sorts of stuff - great in fresh snow.
Head over to Sauze and Sestriere for a day too and try to get over to Serre Che.

Funny, I've just got round to putting photos on Facebook from my last ski trip which was Claviere, had a couple of days in Montgenevre, plenty to do there, Claviere has quieter slopes and good for a day out. Snow was good too. Sure you will all find plenty to keep you amused.

We popped over to Montgenevre last season from Sauze, had a great day out there. So good we've just booked for 4 of us to go back to Monty in January. Some great runs and scenery.

Thanks for the info. We're all really looking forward to it. We try to go somewhere different each year. We've really enjoyed Alpe d'huez and La Tania. Last year was the first time we took the kids out of school and we went to Bad Hoffgastien. Couldn't belive the difference in numbers on the slopes! Going to the ski & Board show in B/ham on Sunday, it's the official start to our holiday countdown clock :D

Hi,

Went to Serre Che some years back and drove to Montgenevre for a days skiing there and also over to Claviere, and had the best Lasagne i've ever had....a couple of good bottles of vin rouge and then a great ski back, a wonderfull resort i found which doesn't seem to get the publicity it deserves......but then again thats not always a bad thing :D
