Hi,

Has anyone got a pair of the K2 Free Luv skis for women or know anyone that has tried them?
I'm going to be buying skis for my wife this season and these are the ones we're leaning towards.

Whilst looking for the best price I went to a link that had a review of them.
This review was not overly glowing on their performance on ice.
As this is one of the things that tends to knock confidence I want her skis to be pretty fairy stable on ice.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Lee

Interestingly I cant find any online reviews for these skis either.
I looked at Ellis Brigham, who dont do this ski but are selling other womesn K2 skis including the One Love and Burnin Love with 70mm in the waist so they are more piste specific, and also the Lotta Love and Miss Demeanour which are 82 and 80mm in the waist respectively and therefore aimed at more "all mountain" performance.

It might help if I tell you that I recently bought my other half some K2 Miss Demeanour skis. I did a lot of research as previously she was skiing on Head C220i which are not female specific and which were also piste skis. I was looking for something which would enable her to continue to ski confidently and quickly on piste whilst maintaining excellent control, and also allowing her to venture off piste and on moguls etc. Having bought and tested my own new skis which were 80mm in the waist, I found the difference in terms of performance almost mind blowing. I was able to tackle varying conditions with more confidence, and I also found that on piste I was able to be much more aggressive and confident, especially on icy sections, as the wider waist and shorter sidecut allowed me to get a better edge and maintain it much easier on ice.

I narrowed down the search for mt other half to 3 or 4 specific skis, but the reviews on the Miss Demeanour swayed me towards it. They basically said it was the best all round ladies specific ski twin tip on the market. I then searched for the best deal, as I didnt want to be swayed by price, but was gob smacked to find them on a German website (Conrad Sport) for 149 euros including Marker bindings. It cost 15 euros of so to have them sent by courier.

I am not suggesting for one minute that you should buy the same skis for your Mrs, but it may well be worth looking at a wider choice, and certainly taking a look at what is on offer at Conrad Sport, even with the exchange rate not being good.

I also cant wait to see my other half on skis with flurescent pink bases, and pictures of rats and squirrels carrying knives on them!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply Tony.
I will have a look at their site to see what's on there.

My wife will do most of her skiing on piste so I'm not sure the Free Luv is ideal for her anyway as they are saying 60% piste & 40% off piste.
She doesn't go off piste but if she gains confidence from better skis on piste its all good.
My own skis are also the same percentage split and I find them great fun on the piste and off it although I'm still only doing baby steps off piste :)

I want to make sure the skis she gets are good for her current ability and also enough for the future.

I'll need to look those ones up, animals with knives, ha-ha.

K2 skis have a reputation for being heavy. If your wife likes a heavy ski, they may suit. If she prefers a lighter ski, take a look at the Scott Maya instead. Ideally she should be testing them indoors before purchase :D

Now thats a ski that appeals to me, as its basically a hybrid of the Neo, but for women. Sadly they are much more than I wanted or could afford to pay.
I'd love to ski on a pair of Neo's as I reckon they are my perfect ski.

I looked a while back for Neo's cheapest I could find was £330, I have never paid that much money for a pair of skis and never will 8)

Thats £100 less than I could get them for, although EB in Glasgow were selling a USED pair for £350!!!!

I too have never paid that kind of money, and probably wont either. Wish I didnt have to worry about the cost to be able to enjoy the skiing I love.
