Young Ski Instructors on a Mission

In the winter 2009 the New Zealand Ski Club of Kashmir invited 8 young ski instructors from all from all over the world to teach local kids in Gulmarg how to ski. In his short video "This is Kashmir" Jack McCowan tells their story. Watch his video here:

Try it in Firefox - it worked for me - I really enjoyed the video. Not to sure about the quality of the piste grooming out there though....

I enjoyed this clip ~ a lot.

First it is good skiers helping people, and that is one of the most enjoyable parts of skiing, giving, rather than taking.

Then~well, it is India!

None of the kids wore gloves.
There were soldiers on the piste, with rifles, and keeping order in the lift queues.
Hardly any girls were allowed to ski
Fabulous Alpine-like views.
The good skiers were shown having fun, good off piste
The little kid with the turquoise pants, just would not fall ~ a kid after my own heart!

Wickers, I think you use a Mac, well whatever, get your settings fixed, and watch this. Show it to Little Wickers.

Thanks ParalyticSkiCrazie firefox worked fine..... I really enjoyed it, I love to see kids ski, but alas only one little girl it saddens me to see in this day and age equality not given to both sex's it takes away a little of the enjoyment for me, but I'm afraid I will not be visiting I just like my creature comforts a little too much these days, but interesting nether the less.
