Descent International went into voluntary liquidation yesterday, apparently they couldn't pay their French tax bill...

I think for £30,000 I'd want to buy a ski property (or at least a bit of it), not rent one! :shock:

Never nice when customers lose money, but I think in this case they can probably just about afford it. )

But I would guess it's our (taxpayers) money as it co-incided with a trade mission!

he had booked it to coincide with the annual World Economic Forum

Good point! Shame we can't all claim state funded ski trips :D

Yup, I'd agree there, our hard earned cash that could have gone towards a much more reasonable ski holiday in somewhere a lot less fancy.

He can always become a golf pro to get the cash back.

Ian,
Really - I am very fond of the Queen, and some of the younger ones aren't too bad either, including Prince Charles (although I know he isn't that young any more).

We did get rid of our king once, a very long time ago, if you remember your history lessons, and then we decided to have one back again.
