Hi! We live in Brussels and want to go skiing and snowboarding. Thing is, we probably can't make it to the slopes until April 23. Can the experts pls tells us if there will still be good snow by that time and where? Thanks!

The majority of European resorts will have closed by the end of April, so you need to look at the very highest like Tignes, Val Thorens, Hintertux, etc. and make a call as to what sort of skiing you want.

Tignes is open until the 10th May, not sure about the others. With the snow there has been so far this year, there should be a good base right through to the end. Expect typical Spring skiing conditions but at those altitudes there's a reasonable chance of fresh even at the end of April.

Hi,
Warren Smith's ski academy teaches right through the summer, July to September, at Saas-Fee in Switzerland, presumably on the glaciers. But I would think that the ski-ing would be fairly limited i.e. not many pistes would be open.

So, it is clearly possible to ski late in the season.

Hope this helps,

Ally
