Booked a flight out to Geneva on Saturday 4th April. Do you think that Morzine would be good around this time or can you suggest somewhere else that is not far from Geneva?

In a moderate-snow year, Morzine would be marginal by April but this year has been good for snow so far so it may be worth waiting if you're particularly keen on going there.
If you've no particular reason to be going to Morzine, there are numerous resorts within an hour of Geneva that will have a better chance of decent snow at that time.
Depending on your level of experience you might want to look at Argentiere (high, great for good skiers), Flaine (reliable in April, good skiing for just about everyone), Avoriaz, La Clusaz, etc.
In the current climate (economy, not snow) you've a good chance of being able to find accommodation nearer the time so I'd recommend waiting and watching for now (and researching your numerous options!).

I've stayed in both Morzine and Avoriaz. And personally when I go on a ski holiday - that just what I want to do - SKI. Therefore given the height / ski in/out and how quickly your in the thick of it - Avoriaz wins my vote.
If you have to make your way up from Morzine each morning - 45 mins wasted at both ends of the day.
Also - from Avoriaz, you're not far from Switzerland too.

You'll never know, unless you try...
