I'd have walked out after the 12 euro pint
We'd quaffed most of it by the time we had got the tab. We should have have done a bit more 'resort research' really. The principal reason for choosing Megeve was it was an hour from Geneva (it was a long weekend). The Hermes shop in the village square should have set a rabbit off! Skiing was good mind.

We got a round of 8 vodka/red bulls to perk us up late evening in a village bar - nearly passed out when the barmaid handed me the tab for 116 euros :shock:

That is totally disgraceful ....... I remember someone on here stating that Megeve was not expensive :shock:

Can I jump in on Courchevel? The restaurant/bar on the verdons run, called the chalet des pierres. Beer was 14 euros a pint before tax. We'd ordered so had to drink it. We had a look a look at the a la carte menu just to be nosey......3 luxury sausages and potatoes aereated into pillows with a jus (known to us as bangers and mash with gravy).....131 euros each. I kid you not. Who on Earth buys this stuff? Ah, here come the Russians.......
