Hi everyone, i'm looking for advice/recomendations from anyone that has been to Montgenevre.
A party of us, skiers and non skiers, ages ranging from under 1yr to over 50yrs, are going there on sunday, any advice on the resort would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Jonathan
Ps. Does anyone know how to go about hiring a guide, as we thought this would be the easiest way to get to know the slopes, and we want to try skiing into italy for lunch one day.

You wont need a guide there.
You can walk into Italy, let alone ski it, from MontG.
Try Cesana and Claviere, but also head over to Sestriere and Sauze for some great skiing. I'd take a bus trip to do those 2 resorts if I were you, to max the time on the slopes there.
MontG has some nice slopes, the short black is steep but worth a run or 2.
Over the back in the bowl, theres a Freeride area with no pistes, and a natural half pipe, where you can also ski the riverbed. Its good fun.
Theres also a nice long red which was shut when I was there last year that connects across to Italy.
Enjoy.

I'm off to Claviere on Sunday and heard that the mountain restaurants are much better than the ones in the Montgenevre area, particularly one called the Montanina in Sagnalonga. I'll be there!

I am heading for Montgenevre at the end of the month - can somebody advise on ski pass requirements - I am lower intermediate level - is it worth buying for the local area and adding the extended area for a few days, or just go for the wide area pass for the week.
