Thinking about hiring a car from Innsbruck airport next month. Anybody have any experience of this, good or bad?

Hi Ellestine,
Was interested enough in this to have a squint on Auto Europe, my usual hiring agent. I was surprised that they indicated that the car hire area was closed or had restricted openings on Saturdays and Sundays, the two principle arrival days.
I can't believe that this is correct, it would be commercially unwise?
Would be interested in how you get on.
Innsbruck would be preferred arrival airport for me, but we don't yet have the low cost flights from Scotland.
Oh, general tips, repeating myself. If you have airmiles, you can get your car hire for nothing, providing they make an offer from Innsbruck. If not, hire through the quidco site and get a discount, (8% as of last week)
Great place Innsbruck.

Our trip is Friday to Friday so the Saturday/Sunday thing might not be a problem. I'll look them up.

We looked into hiring a car this year for the transfer from Innsbruck to Mayrhofen but my Dad reckons it'd be just as cheap to hire a minibus for a drop off and pick up job (about £300) Have a feeling he went through Hertz but I'll check with him and let you know...

£300 would be about twice the price of car hire. I would expect to pay no more than £150 for a week.

The price apparently reflects the fact there's 5 of us going with quite a bit of gear. It was Jetcar he looked at incidentally.
