My ski stuff - skis, boots, goggles, gloves, hat - never arrived at Sofia airport. Rep from the holiday company said stuff will arrive Monday as the baggage was left in Manchester.

Monday no skis or equipment, Tuesday rep said I will get the skis Wednesday, finally the equipment was in my room when I got back from town on Thursday

So two thirds of my holiday was ruined plus four days of lost pre paid ski lift pass. Now I am looking for compensation but from who.

The airline has offered me $60, I can claim insurance of £350, so do I claim this or do i try and claim from the holiday company?

Check your insurance.
If your gear is delayed for more than 12 hours you are usually covered for hiring skis, boots etc in the resort for each 24hr period that yours hasn't arrived.

When this sort of thing has happened to people I know on summer and ski trips, they have always hired kit and bought new clobber - and claimed it back on insurance/airline, often on the advice of holiday rep/head office in UK.

Mark, not trying to be clever but why didn't you do that and enjoy your ski-ing? I feel sorry that your trip was ruined.

You should have purchased new gear and billed the ski company/insurance company. Too late now.

Next time get some good insurance with plenty gear cover so you can just replace it all straight off.
