Is it better to get ski hire when I'm over there or is it cheater getting it from the tour operater???
Also the same with the passes???
Can anyone tell me a must do when I'm there (Besides skiing and and having fun) ;-)
Lift Passes Sestriere
Login
Go to Sauze
Go to Montgenevre
Take a day trip to Serre Chevalier
Do the Banchetta top to bottom
Drink lots of Peroni
As for lift passes, most are slightly cheaper with the tour ops this year due to the exchange.
www.vialattea.com usually has current prices for that area.
Ski Hire in Sauze was pretty ropey, I hope Sestriere is better. We got better prices pre booking with skiset though.
I nearly got to do that bit but was in a lesson at the time with my OH, who point blank refused to go (spoil sport!!) As it seemed a bit evil to leave him at the side of the piste for 20 minutes whilst I went up with our instructor I decided to be nice. I was gutted though :(
Maybe I need a new ski buddy :D

With the Euro as it is, you may be better getting lift passes from the TO - definitely cheaper this way when we went in January.
Don't know about ski hire as I took my own.
Runs wise, try heading over to Sansicario (not been but I'm told it's nice) and Sauze for a day. Red 12 from the top in Sauze down to Jovenceaux is a great (and long) run, as are those on the Moncrons side (Red 3000, 35, 36 etc.)I've put some photos up in another post.
I only did a couple of hours in Sestriere but the bits of the Olympic run which were open were great. From chatting to some friends in our hotel who did this from the very top, it's definitely an experience...
Enjoy!!! :D

Yeah man, I can vouch for that. Its brilliant if they open the very top black section and you go from there, up the high pomma lift.
