For some of you who have excellent memories, you will remember that two years ago, I had mentionned a ski company that had bindings that would tend to crack!
Atomic has now posted an "official recall" of some of their units.

In North America skiers get a free new unit!

On site it mentions rear,,but let me tell you what happened just three hours ago.
I had a pair of Atomic SL 12 165 cm. that I sold to a friend.
They had theses bindings and the front housing cracked on the top!
I bought the skis from Atomic rep!
Whent to Atomic head office here and got new pair of units!
So if you have such bindings check front AND back for cracks!
Seems supplier to Atomic did not give high quality plastic components and they were aware of problem first year of production!
I had my rear units changed twice by rep!
On site it mentions rear,,but let me tell you what happened just three hours ago.

the recall is on specific products from 1998 til 2002 anyone with a binding from that era should take it to their retialer who will check if it is in the recall and arrange a replacement heel unit free of charge. detailed information on the models concerned can be found at www.atomicsnow.com
