Hi everyone,
I have done about 17 weeks skiing now and i am interested in buying some decent gear. i was wondering if anyone could tell me if buying a decent helmet (around £50) is worth the money, or should i stick with my cheap £15 one? If I was to buy one, does anyone recommend any and if so know where to buy one, or would it be easier buying them at a resort?
I was also thinking about getting some blades as i enjoy them and can use them quite well, again is this worth the money or should i just rent them from time to time?

Hi Tapps welcome to J2ski :D Most big ski shops now sell helmets. You will need to try some on before you replace your old one. Buy the one that fits you best.

If your £15 one still fits you, why change?

Blades...hmmm I would suggest renting, for the odd occasion when you get the urge :D

It might be worth the money to someone else but not necessarily yourself than anyone else. RIght now unless you are going to North America you are just as good buying it here as the Euro/CHF are beating the pound out the game.

As an instructor I would advise you to forget about snowblades but each to their own. As Ross I would say go for it if it means you enjoy yourself and leave more of the powder untracked for me

If you don't use them that often, don't buy.

Only if you have tried it on previously.. just because you are a Medium Giro does not mean you are a medium Sweet for example..

Hmmmm, you're just a gear head aren't ya

Pricey helmet. I have had my Boeri Steeze from Facewest for 3 or 4 years now....sooo much cheaper, and not nearly as fashionable...but then it does fit )

Tapps It's really important to try a helmet on, with your goggles. A bit like buying ski boots, so many shape variables!

So the Sweet Trooper Half Cut has a lower volume and weight than most helmets available and won't make you look like Mr Cannonball

I need that, ha ha!
