Hi all,
I finally managed to get a trip sorted for the upcoming holidays, and in fact just ended up grabbing a place on my university's ski trip to Les Deux Alpes. I've never been before, and I've got no idea what to expect in terms of runs. Does anyone have any recommendations for a fairly confident skiier (Can ski Blacks without much trouble unless conditions are bad, just discovering the joys of some real off-piste.)
I'd be really interested to know of any good off-piste routes, or more challenging runs.
Thank you!

Hi Gooseh
I am going to Les Deux Alpes for the first time at the end of January. From looking at the website there is an easy link to La Grave which by all accounts looks like an offpiste mecha. Check http://www.la-grave.com/english/meije.php. From the piste maps and webcams it looks like there might be quite a lot of accessible off piste in the resort area as well.

La Grave is fairly serious so you'll really need to organise a trip with a guide. If you're after tuition with that then I would recommend Charlotte http://www.easiski.com/

Wot ise said. Plus, depending on snow condition, blacks such as Super Diable, Le Grand Couloir, and the one down to La Fee can be quite challenging. Watch out for over-crowded and reckless skiing on the home runs - particularly Les Demoiselles and Velentin (the latter frequently has skiers who can't cope with it falling - a hazard to those below).
All that said, I like the place. It is unpretentious, and has a real French atmosphere (try the Lutins bar in the evening). A livelier place for Apres is Smokey Joes.
Almost for got to say - there is some quite decent off-piste - the usual notes of caution apply, of course.
