After last weeks excellent snows, that brought anything up to 1 metre of fresh into the Northern Alps, the most interesting weather looks to be pushing in from the South over the next few days.

Weather and Snow Next Week

Significant snowfalls are expected in the Pyrenees (French and Spanish), the South of the French Alps and much of the Italian Alpine region over the coming weekend. Southern parts of Switzerland should also do well, building on the falls of last week.

Clearer, stable conditions should roll in early next week but the good news is that temperatures should stay below freezing to resort level - allowing resorts to build good early bases in advance of the main season. Quite a few ski resorts will be open this weekend and next, ahead of their planned opening dates.

Yep, more snow.

Not keen on this southerly front. Something from the north needs to develop again. The Pyrenees have already had more snow last 2 weeks than they had the last 2 seasons so they dont need any more )
