Madness and Mayrhofen

Just watching a TV prog on channel 4 from Maryhofen, by Xbox. Featuring loads of groups, music, Ahorn, Penken, Fitz, snowbombing.

Tony, I have to confess this looks brill. Filmed 4th & 5th/4/08.

A lot of the music is before my time, but there you go.....

I have been to this 2 years running and it is fun to say the least.

It lasts 7 or 8 nights, and there is maybe 70 DJ's and 20 or 30 bands playing gigs throughout the town and on the mountain. Locations stay open till the lifts start in the morning and generally it's a good time with lots of fancy dress on the slopes etc.

Last year they cleared a forest area and built a couple of huts for bars. Madness headlined the night....was very strange to see 20 year olds doing all the moves :shock:

Only problem with it is you need a frigging holiday afterwards.

Next year is the 10th anniversary, and they promise a blinder. Not booked yet, not sure I can take the pace any longer :(

What looks brill - the event of the place?
I have seen pics of the event, and it looks mental: bands playing on the ramp up to the Penken Gondola.....

It was the combination of events and place, Tony. I only caught the last part of the prog and you only saw flashes of the runs.

Oh, and people going down in a gondola! :shock:

I am planning to go to Mayrhofen next year, is this event on in 2009? and is the snow still good in April?
