I was brought up in the church, believe it or not, so when people talk about Lent and other such things, I tend to switch off totally.
I gave up smoking on Boxing Day 6 years ago, but that was because I didnt want to die.

Good reason. I gave up on Christmas Eve 4 years ago.

I'm a good little convent girl you know :D
my son's primary is a catholic school so we do give up for lent. In my case - bread, in Eddie's case - crisps, in Harry's case - nothing as he's moved on from the primary school and has requested not to bother!

Catholic schools have the highest rate for producing single mothers during school age you know.
They ought to give up on trying to teach about contraception for Lent.

Exactly my point. They should give up preaching about how bad it is, because thata sure fire way to get kids to try something out.

I've given up loading and unloading the dishwasher for lent. I'm hoping everyone else in the house will support me in my sacrafice. :lol: :lol: :lol:
