We are looking for a good ski resorts for beginner to intermediate skiers. It would be in the end of November for 3 to 4 days. It would about 4 to 6 of us going and we are planning to drive there from Nuremberg. We looking for a place with good runs, and a good night life as well. Any suggestions?

They usually have all year round skiing, But at this moment in time Kaprun and stubai are closed due to lack of the white stuff. It seems to have been very mild over the summer months on the european glacier`s.
Tux is still open though.

Hi, welcome to the forum :D Your travel dates may rule out plenty of Austrian resorts, as they don't often get opened until December, though there may be plenty of snow. Obertauern may be open, plus glacier resorts like Hintertux or Stubai. Nightlife will be what you make it, that early in the season!

Kitzstienhorn (above Kaprun and Zell am See) and Hintertux (above Mayerhofen) have year round glaciers with decent ski areas. They're your best bet.
[BTW: I've probably miss spelt the resort names!]

Hintertux, every time. Its handy for Mayrhofen, for a night out, and its got a good extent of pistes over there too. Its open almost all year round, and November should see some fresh snow all being well.
You might want to consider stopping at Lanersbach, Finkenburg or Mayrhofen as there isnt a lot else at Hintertux though.

Hi
In my experience Hintertux takes a lot of beating. Particularly Lanersbach if you like quaint little villages. Eggalm is a great mountain and, being north facing it opens early and closes late. It's seldom busy and the red down the north face is great, all that Austria's renowned for!
Speaking of which, does anyone know of any affordable accommodation in Lanersbach for the first week in April?
