I have just seen a forecast for 8cm of snowfall on 20th and 4cm on 21st in Sauze.

Perfect timing as I am going there for the first time with bunch of nutter from somewhere in Cambridgeshire.

I think everyone knows how excited you are by now, Stuart.

However, that forecast is quite different from the one on J2SKI's email today.

I am hoping yours is the more accurate one!

Yes, I went late March last year and had a great time. Its a fun place, lovely long cruising reds, and a huge area to ski around the Milky Way.
The snow this season is much better, even though it hasnt snowed for 2 weeks. I am hoping it remains cold enough to be able to ski down to the village for at least the next 2 weeks as I am off next Sunday.

Great resort for nightlife and pistes arent bad, plenty of Reds and you can go over the otherside into Sestriere for something different. Not many simple runs, so if your second time on skiis you'l have great time!! Not sure i would recommend as a beginners resort (i took 6 learners there in 01 and the lack of blues didnt sit well with some of them (mebbies it was their bottle that went...). I love the resort and would go again however, hopefully you have good snow and can ski down into the resort and down from Sportina (main hub of the mountain). People very friendly too - watch out for fancy dress on the slopes - i saw bearded nuns and a 'city gent' glide past the bar one day...
Not ALL boarders sit in the middle of pistes.....

The bad news is that Stewart is taking his Mrs, her first time on planks. The good news is the lack of blues is made up by the beauty and width of the reds.

Last March we had to take the last chair down to the resort as the snow was all at 1800m plus, although some idiots did ski down the last run, which ended up simply as mud 500m down.

The trip over to Sestriere is good provided you are competent skiers/boarders, and I thoroughly enjoyed the day trip to MontG, and regret not taking the other trip out to Serre Che. Hopefully the tour operators will do these trips again this year.

6 days to go.
